Spotlight: «Coward’s Women» | StarTribune.com
Tuesday-Saturday: Playwright, composer and bon vivant Noël Coward had long-term friendships with the likes of Gertrude Lawrence and Marlene Dietrich, women who also served as inspiration. Twin Cities director Michael Todaro conceived this revue featuring 16 numbers that Coward wrote for his female muses. The show complements two other recent Coward productions in the Twin Cities: the Guthrie Theater’s «Brief Encounter» and the Jungle’s «Blithe Spirit.» Singers Erin Schwab and Maud Hixson do the honors, backed by pianist Rick Carlson and his four-piece combo. (7:30 p.m. Tue.-Sat., Guthrie Theater, 818 S. 2nd. St., Mpls. $18-$30. 612-377-2224 or www.guthrietheater.org.)
